E. Kirsten Dahl, Ph.D.
Director and ChairEric Millman, M.D.
Associate Director
The Child Psychoanalytic Clinic provides intensive child analytic treatment to children and adolescents through age twenty. Children suffering from anxiety, depression, attachment disorders due to divorce or physical illness, behavioral or sleep disturbances are particularly amenable to this treatment approach. The child selected for psychoanalysis will be treated at least four times weekly in the private office of their analyst. Parents will be seen in ongoing consultation as well.
The goals of child and adolescent analysis are the modifications of psychological roadblocks so that children and adolescents can achieve full potential. The goal for the child is restoration towards healthy and progressive development and optimal level of functioning. The goal for parents is facilitation towards understanding and communication with the child which will help in the present as well as the future.
